Success is our superpower! Celebrating student success is a priority for Cheltenham staff. Learn how we recognize our superheroes below.

STUDENT CELEBRATIONS

Our students are unique and special children and we want to celebrate both their academic development as well as their character development.  There are a number of ways we do this:

  • Celebration of Learning:
    • Each trimester, we will hold an after-school community event that celebrates our scholar’s learning and growth.
  • Celebrating Culture
    • Each trimester, we will hold an after-school community event that celebrates who we are as a community.
  • Community Meetings
    • Every Friday, from 8:00 AM – 8:30 AM, the whole student body will gather in the Auditorium to celebrate children, teachers, parents, staff and community members.  It’s a great time to show everyone how much they are appreciated and valued!
  • Leader of the Week
    • Every Friday we will recognize Student Leaders of the Week.  We will celebrate these students during our Friday Community Meeting.
  • Fun Fridays
    • On the last Friday of every month, our entire student body will gather in the Auditorium for a fun-filled activity to add joy to our school community.
  • Attendance Celebrations
    • We love to celebrate our scholars (and parents) that make the commitment to education by showing up on time every day. Scholars with perfect attendance will be celebrated every week at Community Meeting, as well as every month at our Attendance Parties.
  • Classroom Celebrations
    • Throughout the year, as classroom goals are met, each classroom will be able to choose celebrations from a menu (for example – popcorn party, popsicles, or a student selected activity).
  • Birthday Celebrations
    • We will celebrate all birthdays that fall within each month on the last Friday of each month from 1:45-2:15.  Your child’s teacher will send home a notice for this celebration the week before.  You are invited to bring store bought items to recognize your child’s special day!  For example, if your child’s birthday is January 12th, you will be able to bring in treats for the class on the last Friday of that month.
  • Festivals and Community Celebrations
    • We will host several festivals throughout the school year.  These celebrations are a way to open our doors to our community and find ways to celebrate together.
      • It is important to note that any events that happen during the school hours will be monitored carefully to keep a safe environment for our children and our families.  We will always send information with the safety protocols in advance so that you can plan well.
      • Additionally, for any school hour celebrations all school aged children that do not attend Cheltenham are not permitted to attend.  We prioritize a healthy attendance culture and partner with all Denver Metro schools to keep scholars in school.  We will always remind you of this information prior to an event to allow you to check-in with us and problem solve as appropriate.
